, president obama is heading to nevada today to announce his plan. melanie alnwick is live on capitol hill with more and dare we say they are coming to some kind of agreement to something? >> reporter: i don't know about that, wisdom. it is one thing to announce a framework and another thing to get it passed through congress. we'll see. the president's vegas trip today is part of the goal to really start rallying public support behind some of the proposals here on capitol hill and put that public pressure on lawmakers. he will unveil his own plan which the white house says actually has a faster pathway to citizenship than the senate's version. now, in the senate framework that was released monday, if would allow more temporary workers to stay. it increases border security and cracks down on employers who hire illegals. green cards would be awarded to immigrants who obtained certain advanced degree from mesh universities. similar to the president's plan, people here illegally would have to pass background checks and pay fines and taxes. and then they would apply behind those already in line
